About
Learn Babywearing is run by Sarah Labou, a certified babywearing consultant/educator.
Sarah first became interested in babywearing through a family friend in England. She fell in love with woven wraps and it has been integral to her parenting.
Sarah was so dead set on the merits of babywearing, she refused to own a stroller – she got a lot of funny looks and reassurances she could always change her mind later.
She didn’t.
Through her involvement in the babywearing and woven wrap community online, Sarah saw an opportunity to share her knowledge and passion for babywearing with others.
She earned her babywearing certification from the Centre for Babywearing Studies, and began teaching, working solely through referrals. From there came the website and so on.

Thanks to Sarah, I can confidently back-wear my 18-month-old son (and have for many months now)! I was extremely anxious about back-wearing, especially because the instruction manuals and videos are terrifying to look at... Sarah put all my worries at ease, showed me how to use MY carrier, and showed me a bunch of alternatives in case I liked one of them better. It was a fantastic experience working with her, she's incredibly knowledgeable, sweet as can be, and the most patient person ever! You're in excellent hands, she's got your back!

My wife booked us a baby-wearing workshop with Sarah and let her know in advance that I'm a paraplegic wheelchair user. Sarah researched which carriers are typically preferred by wheelchair users, showed me the options, listened to my concerns, and found the best option for me. At the stage we were at with our son, I wanted a carrier that would act more like a seatbelt so he could sit in my lap and I could wheel - with that information, she helped us learn how to use woven wraps and gave recommendations for sizing, materials, and where to buy them. She even taught my wife how to use the wrap so we could both benefit from it. Amazing experience, will definitely work with her in the future when we have a second child - only, I'll be getting tips and suggestions from the very beginning baby stage!

Sarah Labou is the most passionate presenter you will ever encounter! She gave several Babywearing workshops at my Studio recently, and it was clear from the beginning that this isn’t just something she “does”, this is something she “lives”.
Accompanied by her partner and young child, the workshops were aimed at parents who were interested in learning about Babywearing. Some attending families had no experience and wanted an entry-level presentation, others had some prior babywearing experience and were hoping to learn about different product options and what is more/less beneficial for babies at different stages of physical development. Sarah offered something for everyone, and did so with personal attention to each situation, and an enthusiasm that can only come from the heart.
She and her partner have been wearing their baby since birth, and the at-the-time one year old “mostly willingly” served as a test model for the various products. It was great to see the products in action, and the parents appreciated the customizable approach to her presentation. She took the time to answer questions and give demonstrations, and offer suggestions for specific case-studies.
She is educated, articulate, and knowledgeable; and also just really likeable! This combination of personability and professionalism make her the perfect person to teach others about this unique and often mis-understood part of parenting. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
